Why Does Bad Things Happen To Good People? : Ask Pastor Alfred (Audio Podcast)

3 John 1:2 KJV

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

It’s God’s will that only the best things happen to us.

Bad Things happen to Good People because God has given all men Free Will.

You must understand that all men are in control of their actions and all men are responsible for their actions.

When a man does something wrong we cannot automatically give God the responsibility for that man’s actions.

To ask that God make bad things stop happening to Good People is to ask that God should take away Free Will from all men anytime they want to make a wrong or decision, then control us as puppets to make the Right or Holy decision.

What kind of world is that?

God doesn’t want to be a puppet master. For one thing, man losses his God – given purpose if he becomes a puppet. When we worship God, God wants us to do it because we want to, not because he is shaking a string.

Love ceases to exist if we are all puppets.

Love itself would be destroyed.

How can I know you love me when all your actions are controlled from above and you have no Free Will? How can you know I love you when I’m only doing what God is making me do?

In fact, we would not even know we don’t have Free Will. We wouldn’t even know what Free Will is. God would be controlling our every thought.

It would be like God playing chess with himself and we are all his puns. That would be pointless. That goes against the purpose of creation in the first place.

That is the world you are asking for. You are asking for the worst kind of slavery ever.

God is the ultimate Gentleman. He is the last person that would want to make all of Mankind puppets or slaves.

Are you aware that even the smallest animal has Free Will and God doesn’t control it’s mind like a puppet master, how much more God’s most priced creations: humans.

God is not going to make puppets out of anyone, so man would always have the choice to do good and bad; so people would always have the Free – Will to do bad things to Good People.

Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
