1 John 4:7-8 KJV
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Love is a choice. It is a choice we have all already made.
As long as you are alive and you interact with people or beings you have already made that choice to either love or not love
There really is no waiting period for you to decide whether you should choose love or not; the fact is that you have already chosen.
You could change your mind and switch your trust but every single thing you do is a result of which of the two choices you have made.
As a Christian you have to understand that you have no choice but to love.
The option of not loving is not available for the Christian. We have to love.
The scriptures tell us the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by The Holy Ghost.
Romans 5:5 KJV
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
So you cannot but love if you are a Christian because God’s love has been poured to overflowing into your heart. Therefore, all that can be expressed from your heart is love.
For the Christian it is our nature to love. So in that sense, there’s not even a choice. We are just being who we are. We are being the only thing we can be. We are doing the only thing we can do. We walk in love.
A dog doesn’t have a choice to bark or not to bark; a dog barks.
A cat doesn’t have a choice to meow or not to meow; a cat meows.
In the same way, a Christian doesn’t have a choice to love or not to love. A Christian loves.
God is love, so the day you trust God is the day you choose love.
Every Christian made a choice to choose love on the day they choose to receive Jesus.
We don’t need to make up our minds everyday to choose to walk in love throughout the day. We removed the ability of our hearts to choose to not walk in love on the day we surrendered our hearts to God.
Choosing love is still an option for the non – Christian, but for the Christian we can only love.
If you are a Christian and you are still at that level of choosing to walk in love everyday, you need to grow up.
Stop being a baby.
