Once upon a time, in a place just like where you live right now there lived a 12 year old boy named Jonah.
Jonah was crippled because of a terrible accident which happened a year ago.
Jonah was mad at God because of his condition. He blamed God for allowing what happened to him happen to him.
One day Jonah was busy complaining as usual about how God had allowed him to suffer when he met an 8 year old kid from another neighbourhood. The kid wasn’t happy at Jonah’s being angry at God but Jonah told him that he had the right to be angry at God. The kid told Jonah that it wasn’t God’s fault that he had the accident and that instead of complaining and blaming God about all the things that aren’t good about his life, that he should take a pen and paper and write down all the good things that God has done and is still doing in his life – He should count his blessings and thank God for what he has done in his life.
Jonah didn’t really like the idea but after much talking, the kid succeeded in convincing Jonah to try it.
Jonah got a pen and paper and began writing down all the good things God did for him. Jonah just kept writing and writing. He just couldn’t stop because no matter how much he wrote there was always a thousand more things he would remember that he should write. The list was so overwhelming that Jonah’s eyes opened. He was being foolish by complaining. God had been very good to him.
Jonah looked at what he’d written so far and started praising and thanking God for it. Immediately Jonah was healed and was made whole. No one who sees Jonah today would know that he was once crippled.
