Listening To Her – by Alfred (a romantic short story)

Listening To Her – by Alfred (a romantic short story)

Luke sat with his eyes glued on the TV watching a football game while his wife stood beside him, talking to him. Telling him to do something later.

Sally soon makes a growling sound of frustration that gets Luke’s attention. “YOU ARE NOT EVEN LISTENING TO ME” she squealed in even more frustration.

“No! No! Honey, I heard everything you said. Your words mean the world to me. Dont worry I’ll do what you said.”

Sally sighed and left while Luke returned to watching the game.

When the game was over, Luke remembered that his wife told him to do something later. The problem is, he couldn’t remember what it was.

Luke brainstormed and brainstormed and brainstormed. Still nothing. He couldn’t figure out what it was.

Luke asked the Holy Spirit to help him out and tell him what it was.

The Holy Spirit told him that why doesn’t he trying doing all the shores around the house that his wife would usually do.

That was not the answer Luke was looking for. He asked the Holy Spirit to please be specific but the Holy Spirit didn’t answer him even though Luke still felt the presence of the Holy Spirit as always.

Luke did all the shores around the house that his wife usually did.

When Sally came back home and saw all her shores done and how the house was shinning. She was amazed and overjoyed. She thanked her husband for the SURPRISE and she told him that this was certainly a better gift than a receiving a card.

Luke was like, Surprise? This is a surprise?

* * *

Sally said, Of cause it is. I wasn’t expecting any of this. I taught you would just go and sleep or something after you ate the remaining apple pie in the fridge that I told you was all yours while you where watching the football game today.

Luke was like, WHAT?, but he said the What in his mind. He dared not say it aloud. Even though he could not see the Holy Spirit physically, he knew the Holy Spirit must be really smiling right now; making him do all that work. But after Luke took a second look at his wife’s face and saw her joy and how excited she was that he had done all the shores, he was grateful that the Holy Spirit did what he did.

The End.
